Making some Noise

I've got Kenny Garrett's Sketches of MD: Live at the Iridium in heavy rotation. Here he talks about the music on the recording and also says a few words about his music in general:

I knew you liked music, Andrew, but didn't know you liked Kenny Garrett too! We saw him live years ago and it was totally unforgettable.

Listening to some Art Tatum now, a CD called Art Tatum Swings. The quality of the recording is not so great but as always with Tatum you are quickly transported.

You’re a luck man Yak.

Generally speaking I’m a folk and acoustic guitar guy. So I’m a big Fan of Tommy Emmanuel and Leo Kottke fan for example. But of course I have a little bit of everything in my collection, and Garrett is one of them. Tatum, not so familiar with him – I’ll have to check it out, I’m always looking for something new in the music department.
